I'm an older transwoman--though only trans for the past two+ years--with a wonderful cisgender wife (married 30 years) currently living in Venice, ugh, Florida. We moved here from Eugene, OR to look after my wife's Mom. Now we're ready to escape. We are looking at a few places on the East Coast to relocate, but Asheville is at the top of our list. I'm visiting for a week, next month--sort of a recon mission. Was wondering about a few things regarding Asheville. 1) Is it really trans friendly? 2) What neighborhoods or nearby towns should we consider, and 3) How far outside of Asheville is it "safe" to live??
